The Grand Forks Invitational course has been modified to accommodate a larger field of runners for future meets that Grand Forks will be hosting. This year we are hosting the EDC meet and in 2015 we will be hosting the State Cross Country meet! Because of the large number of runners and to allow a fair start we have moved the starting line to the large fields closer to the Red River. This will allow a 700 meter straight way for the start and a 500m straight away for the finish. Also all of the 90 degree turns have been eliminated to allow a smooth turns for the runners. A large location is reserved for team camps and awards. The 4k and the 5k courses are two loop, allowing fans several chances to cheer for the runners. The only downsides to our location is the limited parking for spectators and the little longer walk from where they parked to the starting line.
We are really excited by the new course and hopefully it will become one of the top courses in the region. We have a few ideas for the future that will help enchance the course.
