STATES INCLUDED
IA - KS - MN - NE - ND - SD - WI
All teenage cross-country runners and clubs are invited to participate in the NXN Series which includes the Nike Cross Nationals Regional Championships in eight select cities across the United States.
The clubs and individuals competing in Nike Cross Nationals are selected through a series of regional qualifying events. The nine regions represented are: Heartland, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest, South, Northeast, Southeast, California and New York. There are also four at-large clubs.
Everyone on our team is eligible to participate in the NXR meet. For those wanting to run in this event, we will continue to practice after the state meet at our regular time of 4 pm, from Central High School. Anyone attending is expected to keep practicing like it’s our regular season.
This is not a school-sponsored event. We will be running under the club name of Knights XC, and traveling to this meet does require the costs to be shouldered by each person attending. I will register those that want to attend (because the teams must register together). The registration deadline is Nov 3rd. After that date I will have to charge you for those costs, even if you decide not to attend. We will be traveling with Red River’s team to this event but will be running under separate club names.
Costs
$40 Registration fee
$40 hotel room fee
$$ money for about 3 meals and souvenirs
Traveling
In previous years athletes had to get rides to the meet with their parents or find a ride with another family heading down to the meet.. It is be a great way to travel as a group. If either of our boys or girls' teams qualify for the championship division, we will be allowed to run seven athletes in those races. Anyone after the seventh runner will run in the open division. Those runners that have traveled to this meet in the past have found it to be a great way to finish the season.
