Captains Krunch - Week 6

This past week has been incredible. We have had two meets. First we had a JV meet on Tuesday in Bagley. Everyone but the top seven runners went, and it went well. A ton of people set PR's for the first time this season so that was exciting for everyone. Then on Saturday we all woke up bright and early to leave town for Milaca by 4:45 AM!! Milaca is the biggest high school cross country meet in North America, so this was a great experience for everyone who got to go. Milaca might just have been our best meet yet. Every one of our varsity girls set new PR's, which at our pace is hard to do. Karly Ackley tied the school record and we had two girls break 16:00 for the first time. Not only did our Varsity girls do great but our middle school and JV girls did amazing as well. For most of them, this was their first big meet, and they all did amazing in the crowd and under pressure. Middle school girls had to run a 2 mile when they normally only run 1.8, and Maia Jackson, an eighth grader, is one of the many girls who still set a new PR even with the extra length.

This week we started something new in coach's room. At 3:55 we all pack ourselves into coach's class room to watch an inspirational clip and these videos must had inspired us because everyone did well at Milaca, and I'm looking forward to see what we will do next.

Grace Roehl - Soph Captain

What a great week! These last few days have been awesome with Bagley and Milaca Meets.  Some of the older runners had some of their mileage dropped a little in preparation for Milaca.  The speed workout this week, which we ran on our home course, went really well. Everyone seems to being getting really comfortable with our new home course.

Last but not least Milaca!! Milaca was so much fun for everyone.  Lots of great races and PR's.  Even a school record was tied by Karly.  All and all wonderful week for our Central Cross Country team.  I can't to see what happens next.
