The team did great at the home meet starting with the middle school boys winning their division. They put their top 5 in the top twenty. Adam Arnold got his first win in this race, overcoming getting passed in the last half mile. He fought back and to make it came down to the sprint off with Arnold coming out on top.
For the varsity girls won with a score of 20 with Karly Ackley winning the race. Plus the JV girls won their division with a score of 17. GFC's own Silje Kindseth won the JV division.
On the boys side Central came out in 3rd out of the meet. Richie Osborn got 2nd, Kohlton Peterson 16th, Aaron Springer 17th, and Zach Nelson in his first race of the season got 20th with a huge pr. Brenden Swanson was the boys 5th runner with a personal record (PR) as well.
The meet was full of PRs and everyone really gave it their all. The best part of the day was winning the Fork, which is our traveling trophy between Red River and Central. The Fork has never left Central and we were looking to keep it that way. The way its decided is the combined team scores from Varsity Boys and Girls. It was closer than normal this year but we came out on top, and everyone on the team got to expirience that. I am very proud of how the team performed and am looking forward to see how EDC will play out.
