Last week was a fun week where some of the team got the chance to go to two different meets. The first meet we went to was on Thursday in Grafton. The majority of the people who ran were middle schoolers and they did an amazing job! In the middle school girls race we had four in the top 5 and got the team win. Lauren Harrison got her first win as well which is super exciting! The middle school boys did just as well with 4 in the top 15, they got the team win as well and in individual winner of this race was Ryan Meyer with his second win in a row! We had two girls who ran in the varsity girls race Maia Jackson placed 18th and Hannah Thorpe who was Grafton’s sword winner for the girls.
The second meet of the week was the Nike Heartland Pre-regional meet. It was an early morning as we had to be on the bus by 5 am but it didn’t affect the team at all and you could see that in the way that we competed. The top 5 for both the boys and girls PRed which shows how hard both teams worked. There were also a bunch of people who ran 5Ks for the first time and kicked butt.
I am so proud of everyone for a really great week. This was the start of a run of tough races with Bismarck and Milaca/Roy Griak coming up where we will have to continue to work very hard to do well! Go Knights!
