Today, 4 of the GFC XC team and 2 of our graduated team mates woke up bright and early to run the 7th annual Frozen Feat race at 10:30 am. And boy did we rock the 5k! Camron Roehl won the 5k with an impressive time of 16:54! Followed by a 2nd place finish by Leif Larsen who came in at 18:50. Nick Ackley, who graduated last year, finished 6th overall and won his age group with a time of 20:27.
The girls didn't disappoint either. Karly Ackley came in first for the women's 5k and ran a 21:21. Coming in just under a minute later was me with a time of 22:16. Lauren McMillan, another one who graduated last year, ran a 25:49.Nick Ackley and I were also crowned three-time Lovebirds 5k champions!
I also want to congratulate Richard DaFoe on winning the men's 10k by about 2 minutes in 35:59! Central has produced some great runners and it's good to see how many of us are doing our winter training and can compete in the middle of the offseason and still do so well! I'm proud of all the GFC runners and alumni of how they did today in the Frozen Feat and it just makes me even more excited about track starting in just over a week!
