This past week was crazy! Most of the days this week have been pretty warm, not necessarily hot, but pretty warm. Then on Friday it was kinda wet but not too bad. But then our EDC race on Saturday, I wake up and it is just pouring rain!! I cannot believe it. At first I think, "You've got to be kidding me!" but then I remember how much fun we had in the rain last week and that's when I started to get excited. This was a really big race for our girls, a chance to make history, and we were not about to let a little rain get in our way. So... we didn't. All of girls worked on thinking positively, going out fast, and going to work. Our goal was to track down Davies to go for the EDC win! We ended up sticking our top 5 girls in the top 16, making all conference.  Not only that, but we got our top 5 girls in front of Davies 5th runner! But, it was still going to be really close so we were all equally nervous. When awards came around, we were still clueless about who won, but when they called Grand Forks Central for the win, we all tried our hardest to keep it cool but we were so excited it was hard to keep it all in. After we got our trophy, everyone licked the trophy (It's just something we do:) and parents took plenty of pictures. I am so proud of how all of our girls ran, even all the middle schooler's did great.  We went out there and did what we came to do and I could not be more proud of our girls. Thanks for having a great season, we will miss you all! And for those going to state keep up the hard work!

Grace Roehl - Soph Captain

Wow, what a great week of running! Everyone who was at practice got down to business and did what they were supposed to do.  Partner stretches in my opinion are amazing and I'm very happy that they are now mandatory, I don't know about everyone else but I have become more flexible since we have started them.  More flexiblility means you're less likely to get tight during your run.  Now for the main topic of this post for me is EDC what a great meet!  Everyone had a smile on their faces and postitive attitudes were very nice to see even though the weather wasn't quite the best, it was a little bit cold and on and off rain.  The whole team just looked ready to race and race we did.  Some people might have had their best race but we all tried and did the best remembering coaches "I can" speech. Lastly I'm extremely proud of every single person on the team.  If you aren't  going to state I hope you really enjoyed your season.  I hope you all do track in the spring.  If you are going to state I'll see you guys on Monday!
