We had a good week getting ready for our home meet, we trained so hard all week! Our speed workouts this week on Tuesday and Thursday were Lincoln Dr. Park so we could get a feel for the course. Friday we did our normal run on the course, which was a different setting then normal.

Overall the home meet went very well! We had a lot of PRs and a lot of people had very good races!  It started with our middle school girls where Madison E placed 4th and Marie D placed 7th, then the middle school boys had a great race, Wyatt M. Placed 9th, Carter E. Placed 12th , Dylan M. Placed 13th, and Rylan H. Placed 19th, coming in second as a team!  Dylan B. placed 9th in the junior varsity race which was really impressive considering it was his first cross country race ever! Lilly B. Placed 12th in the Junior Varsity race as well.

Varsity girls ran very strong placing all top 5 runners in the top 20.  Our varsity boys put up a strong fight against the other teams there.  Most importantly the traveling fork will make it's trip back to Central and resting in the room for another year! It was a good week and we have another strong week ahead of us as we prepare for Minot next Saturday!

Brenna Bertsch, Senior Captain

We started off this week with a long run in the cool and partly cloudy weather. Tuesday some of us had 1000’s and some had 800’s on the course. Most people said they went pretty well considering some people were fighting colds and some still have minor injuries. Wednesday we had a normal run and it was good weather to run in. Thursday we did 400’s and 800’s at race pace, it was the second to last hard speed workout of the year. Friday before practice some of the kids on the team went and helped fill in the holes on the course. We did a normal run on the course for people to get used the course they were supposed run on. Saturday we had the home meet and it went really well. The middle school boys and girls did great. We had quite a few of them place in the top 20 and some even placed in the top 10. Jv girls and boys also did really well some of them placed in the top 20 and top 10. Varsity had to dig a little deeper to fight for our position because we were fighting for the fork. We had some of the runners step up and help keep the fork at Central. The fork is called the “traveling fork” it hasn't left Central in the 17 years we've been competing for it. It only leaves to go from Central to Lincoln and back to Central. It was a successful week of practice and the team had a successful meet.

Ryan Meyer, Freshman Captain
